The Border Info

Welcome to my blog!

The Border is an RPG Maker VX Ace, RPG, developed by me.

Story

Born in the capitol of the Kingdom of Rygoul, you moved to a village on the border between Rygoul and the Empire of Ne-ina, following the death of your parents. Living in the village of Irota, the hero lived a fairly average life. Upon your 20th birthday, it is tradition for the young adults of the village to go out and become adventurers. However not everything is how ti seems, and at the end of the day- nothing would be the same.

Gameplay

The Border allows the player to create their own character through a basic character creation system. From there you will pick one of three of base classes (Adventurer, Thief, and Mystic.) You can also choose which class your companions evolve into, however it is impossible to have all classes in a single play through, so pick wisely. There are classes (Healer, Sage, Samurai) which are companion-bound for story and gameplay reasons.

The game will have you exploring a large world, doing story and side quests through a large variety of zones. Eventually you will reach a village which will introduce the base building concept, where you will pick what each of the village's houses are used for (crafting, vendors, and even factions.) There will even be post-game content. While the story is mostly pre-determined, there will be choices here and there that allow you to personalize your playthrough.

You will also be able to romance various companion's however it should be noted that your choices depend on your gender choice. Some are able to be romanced by one gender, but others by both. This will effect a little bit of the game's ending and have potential other buffs. It should be noted that this will also unlock a sort of "lovers" companion questline for the individual you choose to romance.

Test Gameplay

Note: Various elements of the video have been changed already, such as the class system.
